Sunday Sketchbook: Father's Day



My father was an artist as well as a community organizer, and he was always encouraging of my efforts to learn to draw, and willing to have his naps closely observed by me and my sketchbook.

Here's a valentine to my mom, who paid my way through five years of art school on her bookkeepers salary, and never once suggested I consider a more "practical" profession than being an artist.
