Women hanging wet laundry from roofs, barbed wire fences, and clothes lines stretched in unlikely places was a common sight as I was driving through small towns in the Dominican Republic.

The brilliant colors you are capturing in the Dominican Republic remind me of some of your Indian works. A visual feast!
I would think the laundry would get rust stained from those roofs? But this is bright, full of light and warmth - just what is needed on this cold, drab, snowy day!

Thaks, Altoon! As in India, I love the way figures and the landscape blend here in the DR. Probably true of most warm places, where people are outside so much, in close communities, and the buildings are such a human scale--plus the sharp shadows and the distinctive bright pastels--all make the tropics a wonderful place to paint.
RH, laundry was hung everywhere--including barbed wire fences. I guess you use what you have!
