Valley and Mt. Ventoux, Sault

After a week of jumping in with my brush and no pencil drawing, I switched gears with this one and began with a pen exploration of roads, fields, trees and houses, and then added color to this miniature world.

Thanks so much for writing, Skizo, Carlitos and Anita. I've painted this somewhat crazy view many times over the years. It's a very public place to paint, in a park with quite a few tourists. A great concentration experiment!

Mmm, I wonder what size it is? Lovely. I like both with pencil and without-- But this one feels more confident somehow. Lovely feeling of dimension and "quilted" color...
