NRECA Commission
For the next ten days I'll be an artist resident at the Vermont Studio Center, where I'm working on finishing a commission for the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association. My painting is a forty foot long landscape with a winding road (with power lines!) spanning coast to coast. I've enjoyed the chance to work like a WPA artist, finding a stylized, decorative language to state the organization's goals and history.

Should be outstanding Susan. What a good place to be to produce something so labor intensive. Nice to be fed in between working!
Susan ~ your artwork is wonderful!
A fellow artist,

Congratulations on the residency and the mural commission, Susan...well deserved.
Thank you, all! I worked around the clock at VT Studio Center these ten days, and having meals provided (and no cell phone service) helped to make that possible. I do get a bit batty after a a period of non-stop solitary painting like this--it was good to get home and talk to my cats and husband again.
I love this piece! Reminds me of the very colorful paintings in Mexico.
