Some fields and pastures in Vermont have a very English look, or maybe it's just that I see them through a filter of Constable, Girtin, Cotman and the rest of the British landscape painting pantheon.

I just looked through many of your post and got to say...I enjoy all of your work. Especially the pasture paintings. Beautiful.
Your landscapes are wonderful Susan, so full of interesting colours and shapes yet all so subtly making a "whole". Yes, this one is very reminiscent of English landscapes, and it's lovely but I am particularly fond of your winter ones below.

I lived in London about a city block from the grave of John Sell Cotman. I asked Winsor & Newton to put up a decent monument for him, but they never responded.
Thank you for trying, Pilgrim. I think of Cotman as the first modern painter.
