Study: Summer Field

The working landscape in Vermont of pastures, hay, and corn fields (in Provence, it's vineyards, orchards and lavender) creates a visual pattern, a variety of textures, shapes and colors that for me has a very different emotional impact than a vista that's all forest or all wheat field.

Merry Christmas Susan;

Just have to comment on your work, especially the recent set of paintings going up; absolutely lovely! The color you use is wonderful as well as your watercolour technique!

Susan, although I live in Charleston, SC now - itself a visually rich area - your paintings and postings help me escape home to New England. Thank you for the journey!

Thank you for these comments. Watercolors of VT landscape are a new series for me, and I'm enjoying painting them.
