White Pitcher, Morning Light
I painted this Bonnard-inspired still life during a color workshop in my studio this weekend, and was impressed as I always am by the adventurous spirit and hard work of my students--and how much I learn by teaching.

Usually we think of light (at least photographers do) as illuminating a subject, or opening it up, but I am often struck by how frequently light can obscure and render insubstantial otherwise "hard" objects as here it does to the struts in the half of the chair back that is directly in front of the window.
You've caught exactly the quality of disintegration under light.
I simply love it!
I love this painting. Just gorgeous.
