Fruit Stall, Madrid

Madrid is a city for glimpses--down streets, through alleys, into doors and windows. To see my "window and wall" photos from my travels here in Spain these last three weeks, click here.

I really like the graphic quality to this one. And the graffiti on the wall is fun!
Also, your photos are just beautiful. I would love to visit Madrid someday.

Very nice! I've enjoyed seeing all your work from Spain. The colors are so vibrant! Now I am off to look at your photos.

Wow! Your photos are great! I was just going to take a quick look and then move on, but I must tell you how wonderful I think they are. The colors, pastries (yum!), hats, shoes, religious icons - they are all fantastic. Thank you for sharing. Now I am going to put Madrid on my places to visit.

Thanks so much for writing, all! I'm glad you like this painting--and the photos from Spain. I really enjoyed taking those pictures--so much fun to be on a "treasure hunt" with the camera, and finding such rich imagery everywhere. Madrid was great--much more vibrant and visually rewarding than I expected. I would definitely put it on your places to visit!

The Royal Palace is a beautiful and a very important place in Madrid. Unless there is official business taking place, the Royal Palace is open to the public. You will have to pay an entrance fee, but it is well worth it. Make sure to visit the beautiful formal gardens while you're there.

Thank you for the suggestion. I missed the Royal Palace on this trip--I'll put it on my list for the next time. The botanical and Buen Retiro gardens were lovely--hope to have a few paintings of them.
