Luxembourg Gardens, Sun and Shade

After looking at Impressionist paintings in Paris museums all week, painting in this quiet spot today seemed like stepping back a hundred years in time.

I look at your paintings regularly and don't comment enough. But maybe because it is Paris, or maybe because I just returned from the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens today, I just have to tell you how much I love your light and shadows in this painting.

Thank you, Shirley. I love the Luxembourg Gardens. Parts of it have these wonderful patterns of deep shadow and spotlit sun--and great chairs...

Thank you, Candy! Would love to see the painting you'd do here...see you in VT this summer.

These are such wonderful watercolors. I have such fond memories of the Luxembourg Gardens. You are such a brilliant colorist and the color really captures the feel of the place.

So impressionistic, light and cheerful...wish I were in Paris instead of rainy VT, but it is very green.
