White Flowers and Butterflies (detail)
I enjoy going back to my "Dream Tables" to find smaller, simpler paintings within the complex compositions of this series. Each large still life was inspired by one vivid image--in this case, the contrast of pure white lilies against patterned black fabric-- and grew in theme and detail as I kept painting.

Congrats on selling this piece. beautifully detailed work.
This "smaller, simpler" painting is perfect in every exquisite detail!
you have a wonderful way of setting up a till life.
Fabulous!! Love the composition and the detail and the playfulness and fun it conveys.
Thanks so much for taking the time to write, everybody! Figuring out the compositions of these paintings is the most interesting part for me. I start with a large quite abstract idea, and then just kind of make it up as I go. Watercolor allows a more improvised approach than oils do, I find.
One more beautiful than the other. Love your work.
