Thank you all for writing! That's our little pond, in a low meadow below my studio. Besides painting it, I'm there a few times a day taking our new black lab Roscoe for a swim. I'm really enjoying just watching the changes every day, as we move from late summer into our long Vermont winter.
I love the freshness of this!! It's colorful and brings a smile. The other one is really great, too. The whole of your blog shows such diversity in your abilities...from sketching to plein air to complex paintings! WOW. I like to sketch people on Sunday mornings at church. Sometimes, though, it's not easy to do without catching their notice. Hopefully the rendition will be flattering enough if they demand a look...lol!
Thank you for writing, devoted Mom. Yes, it's best if people don't see my sketches of them! I've developed an ability to look both aloof and distracted when drawing in public. People are probably afraid to ask to see my sketchbook Also, I've realized over time that most people really don't notice much that's going on around them, anyway...
