"Summer's Turning" (detail)

Posts have been sparse this last week, as I've been getting ready for a few weeks of teaching in Washington, DC--including a class on a favorite topic, "Color in Still Life".

Absolutely gorgeous! I've contemplated setting up a still life like this, with tons of things that I love. It is just terrific, I would love to know the significance of each piece in the painting.

Thanks so much for these comments, all. I'm a bit behindhand with the blog this week, because I'm in the middle of an intense week of workshops. Hopefully I can do some painting with my class...
