Farm Element (in process)

I've finished the underpaintings for the "Farm Element" multipanel piece. Here they are, beginning on the left with "Autumn" and continuing through the seasons. Below are the watercolor studies for the piece. In developing the oil painting, colors and values have intensifed, and now I'll keep working on unifying the four panels into one composition.

Sunday Sketchbook: Spring

"What I like are the spaces between things...and how being far away makes a thing so small.

For example, a flower in the foreground is larger than a house. Everyone knows that size is relative, but only the artist truly believes that...

and also knows that the most mundane reality is always stranger than fiction."
