Notwithstanding the fresh snow yesterday, there's a fresh smell in the air, it's Town Meeting day, and we're right on the cusp of "mud season", that most messy, subtle, exhilarating time of the year.

I can almost hear the tires splashing in the puddles. Good work!
Well, if mud were really this beautiful variety of colors, we'd all want to be little piggies and play in it! Another wonderful painting :)
Yes. Despite the 7 above when I left the house, Town Meeting Day is often the first sign of spring. But, yesterday it was clearly only in the mind.
This is absolutely gorgeous! And how come you're getting spring? Here in Maine, it's around zero this morning, we have about three feet of snow, and winter just won't let up!
Yes, it is still winter here. I'm not in real time with this painting--the "Elements" images are based on a combination of sketches, photos, plein air studies--and last but not least, memory. And about the rainbow mud, the visual world is alot less "neutral" in color than you'd think!
Another beauty! Your palette is so refreshingly light.
