Memory: Fields, Provence

While I'm on my land-use bandwagon, let me just say that the beautiful landscape of Provence looks the way it does for very practical, non-artistic reasons: small-scale, diversified and protected farming; strict zoning; and the visionary 1977 creation of the regional Luberon National Park. Thank you, French government, from all of us who love this place!

France at its best. This is memory provoking image for me because it is in such fields that I decided to pursue an art career You have captured the vividness and spectacular colour of France as well as the economy of scale that is noticeable in fields and farms as you travel through the French countryside.

I really liked your style of painting in watercolors. It looks so simple, yet is complex with landsape patterns weaving together like a quilt.
