Fabric Market, Paris

This was my first visit to the Montmartre fabric market--somehow in my many other walks through this lovely hilly neighborhood I'd missed this block of buildings filled top to bottom with bolts of silk and wool and browsing fashion designers.

Sunday Sketchbook: Paris

Last Sunday I went with my workshop group to the lively outdoor shopping street of Rue D'Aligre, one of my favorite spots in the city on a weekend morning, a combination food and flea market that brims with perfect fruits and vegetables artfully arranged, piles of eccentric shoes, stacks of teapots, and groups of old men earnestly engaged with coffee and conversation.
