Study: Autumn Road

The Champlain Islands are the flat part of Vermont, where you often see the lake rather than a mountain as a small blue shape in the background.

I love your latest series of posts. This one caught my eye but all the work is spectacular; great use of the medium, colors, etc.

By the way I rode a bike once thru the champlain islands! they are just beautiful. I think I recall names like north hero and south hero island? I'd like to get back sometime

Thanks, Rhonda, glad you like these. They're helping me think out the eventual oil paintings. Need to keep that sense of light in them, which can be more difficult in oil. The islands, speaking of light (it has a different quality up there) feel like they're miles apart from the rest of Vermont, like being on the ocean rather than a lake. I want to get up there to paint more often. You should come back to bike again!
