Vermont Apples

Is it my imagination, or do these apples handpicked from a local orchard have more personality (rosier red, more velvety yellows, interesting dimples and curves) than the perfectly generic Pink Lady I could have picked out of a pile at Safeway?

As a painter of homegrown apples my self, I heartily concur. Perhaps that's why this painting is so wonderful, but it also has to do with your keen observation and the wonderful colors in play. p.s. I tagged you on my post today - play if you like!

Thanks for these comments, folks! I'm glad you like this painting. Yes, it's been unseasonably cold (15 degrees this morning and some snow down) which while uncomfortable for walking is a reassuring sign that we still have distinct seasons up here.
