On my last trip to Washington I found stored in my mother's basement many sketchbooks from my early days learning to draw, when I filled these printer sample tablets my father brought home with page after page of sketches of my family. In this drawing my mother is younger than I am now, but I can remember drawing those shoes like it was yesterday.
