Changing Weather

I painted this yesterday morning, then packed art supplies and coffee pot and drove up to Johnson for a residency at the Vermont Studio Center ( a working retreat for artists with meals, studio and monkish bedroom provided.) My goal for the next two weeks is to finish four paintings from the “Places/Possessions” series, plan the next, and keep up with my visual diary. It’s true, I have a fine studio at home where I can paint full time, but here I can be away from daily routine, inhabit a new work space, get some distance from familiarity, and share with other artists a community of solitude.

Stunning and telephone wires give a real authenticity to the rolling and moving landscape! Have a productive time at Johnson!
